There is a scene in one of my favorite movies of all time, The Breakfast Club, where Vice Principle Vernon is talking with the custodian, Carl, over a beer in the high school basement. It goes a little something like this:

Vice Principle Vernon: You think about this: when you get old, these kids – when I get old – they’re going to be running the country.
Carl: Yeah.
Vice Principle Vernon: Now this is the thought that wakes me up in the middle of the night. That when I get older, these kids are going to take care of me.
Carl: I wouldn’t count on it.

There are times when I think about the “younger generation” and I wake up in the middle of the night, too. I suppose every generation has had trepidation about the “young whippersnappers” who will one day grown up and run their beloved country. Well, my guest today is one of those young ‘uns who alleviate all my fears—the kind of teen-about-to-be-all-grown-up who impresses the heck out of me. She’s a published author (at sixteen), she’s a top student, athlete, she’s no doubt got the young angst-filled teenage boys following her around like a gaggle of puppies on anti-anxiety meds, but dang it if this young woman doesn’t juggle it all and still have enough time each day to bring a smile to my face with a host of funny, uplifting tweets (who else could come up with a weekly “Fanged Fadoodles” tweet??).

Oh, and as she’ll confirm, she can quote the best movies line for line with me. NO ONE quotes the best movies line for line with me. But she does. Yes, I do believe she’s fast on her way to becoming Superwoman. Or Wonder Woman. Nah, that wouldn’t be fair; Patricia Carrigan is going to leave her own unique mark on this world, of that much I’m sure. And when I get older (much older), I’d be honored for her to take care of me, dang it.

Hello everyone! I’m Patricia Carrigan, Author of Antiserum. I’ve got a couple more I’m finishing up all while attending high school, working, marketing and trying desperately to have a semi-normal life. I’ve been super movie quote tweet buddy and RABMAD Author friends with Rob for quite a while now and when I asked him to swap blog posts I had no clue exactly how difficult it was going to be for either of us to get our crap together and get it done. It has been one crazy ride and I think I’m probably the one with the craziest schedule this week to make it even worse. While writing this, I’m not positive we’ll pull it off… confident.. but not positive.. Lmao. I kind-of like that, the random uncertainty of it. We’ll see won’t we?? If you are reading this.. I guess we made it! Yay!

Who is Patricia Carrigan you ask?? Hmm… good question. Is she @pcarrigan1 who tweets in movie quotes, smiles, hugs and hashtags?? Perhaps she’s Patricia Carrigan, Author Antiserum, LinkedIn user and serious business woman, a marketing dynamo. Then again, maybe she’s Patti… teenage high school senior, crazy about fashion, friends, music, fun, books, animals…. oh the list goes on! Still, stick around her long enough and you find there’s another one yet, one deep in the mind where the creative juices pool… ya, that one’s a bit twisted… you should read the things she comes up with!

I thought long about what to write for you folks… all the Patricia’s argued a bit..@patricia1wanted to do a cute little story and add some corny jokes or puns 😀 Patricia, Author and business woman thought perhaps a serious piece about Marketing and the use of social networking. Patti was with her friends and told us to talk to..deep dark, in the mind Patti. She scared the others into silence and the twisted little bugger won. So, I present for you a tidbit from I’d say about the middle of Antiserum Part II, The Rising! Careful my peeps… it’ll leave ya wanting more! :-F

I woke up to the smell of fresh, new car interior. I blinked my eyes a few times to clear my vision.

Yup… I was in a rental car, sitting in the passenger seat with Emil driving smoothly.

Emil didn’t even glance over in my direction but smiled. “Good morning, my dear,” He said smugly. “How was your sleep?”

I glared and immediately attempted to punch his face. My hands lifted a very short way from my lap and stopped abruptly; making all sorts of chains clink together.

Sharp pains shot from my ankles and wrists as I looked down in utter realization as I took in the handcuffs that connected to a chain around my waist and linked to another chain running all the way down to my ankles.

“Are you freaking kidding me?” I growled loudly.

Emil laughed.

“You bastard!” I yelled as I thrashed about in annoyance.

Emil continued laughing, “You don’t honestly thing that I was going to allow you to the freedom of movement after the way you attacked me last night, now did you?” He said in mock terror.

“UGH!” I growled as I shook my hands.

I glared even more and inserted an image of his head rolling off of his shoulders and onto the floor into his mind.

Emil clucked his tongue and shook his head; smiling. “Such violent thoughts, my dear, you shouldn’t be thinking that way.” He reached over and ran his hand over my cheek, pushing the hair from my face.

“Where are you taking me? Where are we?” I demanded; doing the best I could to pull my face from his hand.

“That is for me to know, my dear. It doesn’t concern you… at the moment.” He muttered.

I furrowed my eyebrows in annoyance and confusion. “Wha-?” I started just before he growled, grabbed my chin firmly, and gave me a good hard look.

“It’s time for you to be quiet.” He smiled again and in one swift movement he twisted my head even farther to the left.

The last thing I heard was a crack…

I suggest we clone Patricia Carrigan so we can find quit worrying at night, and be ready to enjoy our old age when all the cloned PCs are running the world the way it’s supposed to be run.

    No, I’m serious… well, sort of…
