Campaigning For Ben

Ben

With the school year starting all over the country, a cause near and dear to my heart is going to be picking up steam in about a month:

Benefit 4 Ben.

Some good friends of ours have a son, Ben, who has benefitted so much from a wonderful place called The Joshua School. TJS is a remarkable facility in Englewood, Colorado with a tremendously caring and gifted staff who provide education and enrichment for families and children challenged by autism spectrum disorders and developmental disabilities. When Ben was in the public school system he was simply not getting the attention and specialized programs that he deserves. At TJS, he is thriving! However, the cost of such programs is commensurately steep.

This is why I decided, when my book released this year, to donate half of the net proceeds to paying Ben’s tuition. You can read about a bit of the background here (or on the “Read a Book, Make a Difference” tab on this blog site). Now, with the school year approaching, I would really like to start a big surge toward making this happen for Ben and his family. I’ve decided for the month of September to donate 100% of the proceeds of the digital sales of my book to Ben’s tuition. (You make ask, why only September? It’s a fair question. The answer is, I want people to help me push this now! Get the back-to-school momentum going!)

So I need your help, dear readers, friends, writers, bloggers, and tweeps. Please assist me in getting this message out—100 % of the proceeds to Benefit 4 Ben! When the Fiebers host their fundraiser this year, I want more than anything to be able to hand them their tuition. Help me do that, for them and for Ben!

The whole idea behind “Read a Book, Make a Difference” is that you are likely doing something you would do anyway: buying another book to read. But in buying this one (particularly now), you are putting your money toward the greatest gift of all. Please pass this along. You can link people here, or to Amazon. I can’t guarantee you will love my book (although it really is a great read!)—what I can promise you is that you will make a difference!

So once again, please repost, retweet, respond, then rinse and repeat. Don’t wait until tomorrow, don’t figure the other person will do it. It’s less than three dollars. And you get a great book. You can read it, gift it, or delete it (I’d prefer one of the first two, but it’s up to you). : )

Just please, help me to help Ben. He is a profoundly special young man and his family is committed to giving him all the opportunities that we take for granted.

If Twitter, Facebook, and the Internet are good for anything, they should be good for this. Help make it so!!

Thank you so much for your support.

Warmest regards,

R.S. Guthrie
